What is A Good Scale and Why?, with Bruce Clark of Mason & Hamlin Piano Company, and Jude Reveley, RPT, of Absolute Piano Restoration, Inc.
When designing a piano, a number of decisions go into creating a good scale. What tension level, the appropriate inharmonicity level, where the bass break should be, and the number of monochords, bichords, and trichords. This class covers the decisions that must be made and the criteria that underlie those decisions.

Free parking is available on Duncan Street and nearby side streets.

ICYMI... April's meeting was intimate and hands-on! Attendees got to learn about and practice piano finish repair, both polyester and lacquer. Gregory Cheng gave individual instruction and feedback and we came away feeling more confident about finish repair! The first session on player pianos and other piano technologies was in-depth and all-encompassing -- everyone learned something. Many thanks to Gregory Cheng for coming all the way to Boston, and to the North Bennet Street School for hosting.
