LIBRARY RULES |
|
1. |
Only one item may be borrowed at a time by qualified members |
2. |
Return of borrowed items is the responsibility of the borrower and must be done at the next meeting following check-out |
3. |
Loans must be renewed each month and may be extended a month at a time for an additional two months (for a total of three months), as long as no materials are on the waiting list |
4. |
Failure to return borrowed items will result in a $5 late fee or “donation to the Boston PTG Library.” Two infractions results in a first offense (see Rule # 13) |
5. |
If a member cannot make a meeting to return a borrowed item, it is the borrower’s responsibility to notify the librarian and to make arrangements for the borrowed item to be checked in at the next meeting. This may be accomplished by mailing the materials to the librarian at the borrower’s expense, dropping off materials to the librarian or a third party to bring to the next meeting, or by some other arrangement worked out between the borrower and the librarian |
6. |
Contact the librarian for the loan of any materials. The requested material will be added to the travel library and brought to the next meeting |
7. |
If the requested material is already on loan, a waiting list will be maintained by the librarian to ensure transfer of materials is on a “first-come, first-serve basis.” |
8. |
Other arrangements or special circumstances regarding the borrowing or returning of materials may be arranged with the librarian. Such arrangements will be the responsibility of the borrower |
9. |
Borrowing materials is a public matter and will be posted in the News and Notes along with overdue notices |
10. |
Out-of-print or discontinued materials will not be loaned-out; however, the librarian will assure that qualified members will have equal access to view and/or reproduce these archives in a manner that is deemed appropriate by the chapter |
11. |
Members are responsible for the cost of replacing any damaged or destroyed materials |
12. |
The librarian is responsible for inventorying the library at least once a year and updating the cost, availability, and stock of all items on the spreadsheet |
13. |
Failure to comply with the “Rules of the Library” will result in a warning for the first offense, a six-month suspension for the second offense, and permanent expulsion from participation in the library for the third offense |
